Richard van Lingen works as a paediatrician-neonatologist at the neonatology department of Isala, Zwolle and is a board member of the Ronald McDonald House Zwolle. Through his work, he is often involved with parents whose child dies shortly after birth. Interviews with parents revealed that, in addition to processing their own grief, they are faced with questions from their other children about the death of a baby brother or sister.

There appeared to be no book available on this subject for children aged 1.5 to 6 years, which is not specifically based on a certain belief. Van Lingen therefore decided to write a book that (grand) parents can help explain the situation to their (grand)children. The illustrations were made by Marjet van der Linde.

Marjet van der Linde, spent her childhood largely drawing pictures.

She enjoys working with Indian ink. Now she owns her own Yoga centre and takes pleasure in giving Yoga classes .
